Indonesia's used car market is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Buyers are active and price-sensitive — setting the right price from the start makes the difference between a fast sale and months of waiting.
OLX Indonesia, Mobil123 and Carmudi: live market prices
The most reliable price reference is what comparable cars are listed at right now — that's your actual competition in the market.
- OLX Indonesia (olx.co.id): Still one of Indonesia's most active classifieds platforms for used cars. High volume, wide coverage across cities.
- Mobil123.com: Dedicated automotive marketplace with both private and dealer listings. Good for filtering by make, model, year and mileage.
- Carmudi Indonesia: Another active car marketplace — useful for cross-referencing prices across different platforms.
Factors affecting car value in Indonesia
- Toyota and Honda dominate: Toyota (Avanza, Kijang Innova, Rush) and Honda (Brio, HR-V, Mobilio) have the strongest resale values in Indonesia. These are the most searched models by buyers.
- STNK and PKB tax status: A car with a fully paid STNK and up-to-date PKB (annual vehicle tax) is more attractive — buyers factor in any outstanding tax debts.
- Mileage: Indonesian average driving is 15,000–20,000 km/year. Low mileage commands a premium; very high mileage (above 150,000 km) reduces value significantly.
- City of registration: Vehicles registered in Jakarta or Surabaya may transfer differently than those from other provinces — balik nama costs vary.
