We multiply your daily distance (km) by the EV's energy use (kWh/100km), then multiply by your electricity rate (HK cents/kWh). CLP residential rates average around HK$1.30–1.50/kWh. Public fast chargers can be significantly more expensive, so home or workplace charging is most economical.

State of Health is the percentage of original battery capacity still available. A new EV is 100% SoH; after several years it may fall to 85–90%. Below 75–80% you will notice a meaningful loss of range. Hong Kong's warm climate is generally gentler on battery chemistry than cold climates, but frequent DC fast charging can accelerate degradation.

A 7–22 kW AC charger (available in many car parks and estates) adds roughly 40–100 km of range per hour. DC fast chargers (50–150 kW) from Tesla Supercharger, HKMC and other operators can bring a depleted pack to 80% in 20–40 minutes. Hong Kong's compact geography means most daily journeys are easily covered on a single overnight charge.
