Vehicle History for Private Sellers in Poland: What Buyers Will Check

Polish buyers are among Europe's most diligent at checking vehicle history — particularly for odometer manipulation and accident records. Knowing what they'll find helps you disclose proactively and prevent deals collapsing.

What Buyers Check

  • historiapojazdu.gov.pl: Poland's official government vehicle history portal. Free, and shows registration history, technical inspection results with odometer readings, and whether the vehicle has been reported stolen. This is every informed buyer's first step.
  • AutoISO or Carvertical: Paid vehicle history reports that aggregate European data including accident records, insurance claims, and cross-border odometer data. Very popular in Poland due to the high volume of imported vehicles.
  • Technical inspection records (Badanie techniczne): Odometer readings are recorded at every inspection — buyers cross-check for plausibility.
  • Auction records: For imported vehicles, buyers check European auction history to verify the mileage and condition at time of import.

Odometer Fraud Is a Major Concern in Poland

Poland has a known problem with imported vehicles having rolled-back odometers. If your vehicle has a verifiable, honest mileage history, emphasise this prominently — it is a significant differentiator in the Polish market.

Disclosing Accident History

AutoISO and Carvertical aggregate European insurance and accident data. Undisclosed accidents from other EU countries are frequently found. Disclose all accident history proactively.

Run the Check Yourself First

Check your vehicle on historiapojazdu.gov.pl and consider purchasing an AutoISO or Carvertical report before listing. Being able to share these reports proactively builds immediate buyer confidence.
