Singapore buyers are among the most informed car buyers in the world. Between OneMotoring, sgCarMart's history tools, and independent inspections, they have access to comprehensive data. Knowing what they'll find helps you disclose proactively.
What Buyers Check
- LTA OneMotoring vehicle information: Via SingPass, buyers can access the vehicle's registration details, COE expiry, road tax status, and ownership history.
- COE expiry date: The single most important data point for any Singapore used car. Buyers calculate cost per remaining year of COE — be upfront about your expiry date.
- PARF rebate value: Buyers check whether the car is PARF-eligible and the current rebate value via OneMotoring.
- Finance encumbrances: Outstanding hire purchase agreements are visible and will prevent the transfer from completing.
- Accident history: Buyers use sgCarMart history reports or engage independent inspection services (e.g. VICOM, STA) to check for accident and repair history.
Disclosing Accident History
Singapore has no centralised accident database, but professional inspectors are excellent at identifying panel and structural repairs. Disclose all accident history — hidden repairs discovered at inspection collapse deals and damage trust irreparably.
Settle Finance Before Listing
Outstanding hire purchase must be settled and the financier's charge removed before the LTA transfer can be completed. Obtain a redemption letter and settle in advance — do not wait until a buyer is found.
Run the Check Yourself First
Log in to OneMotoring with SingPass and verify all vehicle details before listing. Share this information proactively in your listing or during buyer enquiries — it builds trust and reduces time-wasting.
