Once the MOI transfer is complete and you have received full payment, a few steps will close out the sale cleanly and protect you from future liability.
1. Confirm the Transfer
The transfer is complete when the new Istimara is issued in the buyer's name at the MOI traffic centre. This confirms you are no longer the registered owner.
2. Cancel Your Insurance
Contact your insurer on the day of transfer to cancel the policy or transfer it to your next vehicle. Request a refund for unused months.
3. Check for Outstanding Fines
Any fines before the official transfer date remain your responsibility. Check the MOI traffic portal after the transfer to confirm your account is clear.
4. Keep Records
Retain the sale agreement, MOI transfer receipt, and payment confirmations for at least two years in case any dispute arises.
