How to Manage Your Dealer Team on Car Spot in China

As your dealership in China grows, managing Car Spot as a single-user operation becomes a bottleneck. Sales staff need access to the Inbox to respond to enquiries promptly, listing managers need to create and edit vehicle pages, and account administrators need oversight of the full operation. Car Spot supports multi-user dealer accounts with role-based permissions — giving each team member exactly the access they need without compromising account security.

Car Spot Dealer Roles Explained

Car Spot offers three primary roles for dealer team members:

  • Account Owner: Full access including billing, subscription management, and the ability to add or remove team members. Typically the dealer principal or business owner.
  • Manager: Can create and edit listings, manage the Inbox, view analytics, and update the dealer profile. Cannot access billing or manage other team members.
  • Sales Staff: Can view and respond to Inbox messages and view listings. Cannot create or edit listings or access analytics. Ideal for front-line sales team members.

How to Add a Team Member on Car Spot

Adding a team member to your Car Spot dealer account takes less than two minutes. From the Car Spot dealer dashboard, navigate to Account > Team. Click Invite Team Member and enter their email address and assigned role. Car Spot will send them an invitation email. Once they accept and create their account, they will have access according to their assigned role immediately.

Best Practices for Chinese Dealership Teams

Chinese dealerships often operate with clearly defined departmental roles — separate teams for sales, after-sales, and marketing. Car Spot's role system maps well to this structure. Assign Manager roles to your listing and marketing team members, and Sales Staff roles to your frontline sales consultants. The Account Owner role should remain with the dealer principal or a trusted senior manager.

Managing Team Member Access Over Time

Staff turnover is a reality in every dealership. When a team member leaves, remove their Car Spot access immediately from Account > Team. Dormant accounts are a security risk — a former employee with active access could view buyer communications or edit listings. Review your Car Spot team members list at least quarterly to ensure it reflects your current staffing.
